About

I've been dreaming about 24/7 prayer since Jesus hit me with it in the fall of 2006, had the first pseduo-"day of prayer" via Facebook in March 2007, and then met you crazies in the winter of 2008 out at the OneThing conference in Kansas City. :) Two months later, a casual e-mail went out around the state saying, "If you're interested in raising up prayer on your campus, drive to UK and lets all meet." 50+ kids piled into the basement of the UK Wesley Foundation and God fell hard... We picked seven students to lead the way with prayer and fasting and planning of what our first week of prayer could look like, calling them the "Seven Horsemen". A few weeks later I visited the Kansas City Boiler Room for my spring break and hung out there for the week. Then, from April 14-20, the first statewide week of campus prayer here in Kentucky went down. In May I came to the national 24/7 gathering outside of Kansas City, and then a second statewide week of prayer happened in November 2008. In January 2009, we called students from around the state to meet up in Louisville and have a fun-filled, Spirit-filled overnighter where we hung out with each other & Jesus and then planned our season of prayer at the end of it. A weekend later, during MLK Jr. weekend, I flew out to Vegas for the CampusAmerica State Coordinators retreat and hung out with everyone -- and LOVED it. Then, March rolled around, and with the start of March came the start of our most ambitious dream yet: 40 days of 24/7 prayer going around Kentucky. It was patchy in a few places, and not always 24/7 by any means, but God threw the gates of heaven open over several schools with divine encounters and prophetic moves of God; lives were transformed, and new campuses were pulled into the movement. And now... It's my first few days of summer 2009, and I'm getting quality sleep on consecutive nights for the first time in four months. :P I'm graduating from undergrad in December 2009 (hopefully!!!), and what comes after that only God knows, but for now I'll be sticking around here and loving every minute of what Jesus does. It blows my mind to think that right around 10 years ago -- spring 1999 -- was the day I sat on the side of my bed and seriously considered ending it all... that just over four years ago -- April 14, 2005 -- was the day I had a wreck where my car's driver's door was crushed in 14 inches while my arm sat in the window, yet I walked away... Jesus has taken a broken, helpless kid and done the impossible through his brokenness. What does he dream of doing through yours? :)
