Northern Kentucky University
Campus History
Northern Kentucky University is the youngest of Kentucky's eight state universities. Founded in 1968 as Northern Kentucky State College, it awarded its first bachelor's degrees in May 1973, and became Northern Kentucky University in 1976.
Originally formed as a University of Kentucky extension campus, in 1976, it became Northern Kentucky University. The Salmon P. Chase College of Law, formerly an independent law school in Cincinnati, merged with Northern Kentucky State College in 1971. The newest college at NKU is the College of Informatics, founded in 2006.
There are currently about 13,000 undergraduate students on campus. About 90% of these students are commuters.
NKU's school motto is "Quality Made, Community Driven."

Prayer Week is March 28 to April 2! The prayer room is located in the Baptist Campus Ministry building.Kick-Off dinner is at 6:00 on Sunday, March 28 and Good Friday Service is at noon on April 2 in the Otto Budig Theatre.
