Arizona State University at the Tempe Campus

Campus History

In the Fall of 2004, Arizona State University had it's first DAY of 24-hour prayer. The campus ministers that had prayed at ASU for decades said a whole DAY of prayer could never happen-- BUT it did. And God spoke powerfully. At the end of that first day of 24 hour prayer, a torrent of rain hit ASU's campus. In the desert, this is a huge deal. God was speaking-- He wanted to do this thing. He wanted ASU. He wanted EVERYTHING in HIS heart to pour from heaven to earth for our campus...

Since that initial day of prayer in 2004,  there has been a season of non-stop prayer on ASU's campus each semester. Through it, God has begun reviving his Church in LOVE. He has begun to call the prodigals home-- He is seeing HIS desires fulfilled for our campus in a deeper way.

We believe what God is doing here at ASU is just a sign of what God would do as a whole in this generation-- and all over this nation. It started with a FEW -- and if we will have it -- "

Prayer on Campus

Before the fall of 2004, there were three students who decided to pray for revival on ASU. Now there are hundreds. Small beginnings = God beginnings. One of them is now the Campus America "campus catalyst" -- Chris Ngai.

ASU has had "mothers and fathers" of the faith praying DAILY for ASU for decades. We honor and LOVE them deeply. Without thier prayers, we believe none of this would have happened.

We pray in a chapel in the middle of our campus, Danforth Chapel. During the day, we pray under a TENT outside on the lawn in the busiest part of our campus. Our "prayer house" is mobile. We move it inside/outside twice a day.

There are 11 ministries who officially participate in 24 hour prayer on campus.

We only do prayer 5 days a week. M-F. On our campus, it's not sustainable to do weekends.

Every semester, we seek the Lord for how many days/which days we will pray-- so every semester is different. Every time, God speaks powerfully through His timing.

LoveASU is the official name of the "prayer house" on campus. We started a non-profit in 2008, can recieve funds and have 4 employees-- full time campus missionaries.
