University of Wisconsin Platteville
Campus Background
UW-Platteville is one of 13 publicly supported comprehensive universities in the University of Wisconsin System. Founded in 1866, UW-Platteville (UWP) is the oldest public institution in the State of Wisconsin, and is considered one of the safest campuses in the nation.Prayer on Campus
Noon Prayer
Every day, Noon Prayer meets in the PSC Mound Room for a half hour of praying for our campus, community, and world. It’s a great way to connect with Christians on campus, learn new ways to pray, and (most importantly) connect to God in the middle of the day. The vision of noon prayer is to be a very friendly and welcoming place to unite followers of Christ in corporate prayer. Contact Peter Johnson (johnsonpe@uwplatt.edu) for more info.
Churches/Ministries on Campus
Campus Crusade for ChristCrusade began on UWP the spring 2009. We meet in Doundna 149 on Wenesdays at 7pm. Everyone is welcome.
Intervarsity Christian Fellowship
Each week we meet on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm to experience contemporary worship, interactive discussions, teaching from God's word, and celebrate together. Whether you attend regularly or are just checking things out, come and join us at Doudna's Little Theater, room 103.
The Catholic Newman Community
located at St. Augustine University Parish, offers a variety of programs and opportunities, always with the understanding that our real priority is each of you: students, faculty, and staff. Any member of the UWP community who is interested in our mission is welcome to join us, regardless of faith affiliation.
CNC meets every Sunday night at 7:15 p.m.
WELS Campus Ministry
Our mission is to promote spiritual growth through the study of God's word and through fellowship with each other, strengthening each other along the way. We meet on Monday nights for meetings and bible study at 6:00pm in the Mining Room of the Student Center and on Wednesday nights for bible study at 8:00 in Ottensman Hall 124. Everyone is welcome to attend the bible classes!
Wednesday 6:30 at First English Lutheran Church (ELCA)
During the summer, anyone interested is also invited to participate in a Wednesday Bible Study. We will explore the text for the coming Sunday. Bring your Bible, your curiosity, and your voice!
